|What time's the rehearsal?

planning discussion for Jenni and Jason's Wedding,
Plane fares have come back toward the place of sanity and I wanna strike|
while the iron is hot. But I don't wanna get into Chicago too late to make
Also -- how am I getting from ORD to where the rehearsal is, btw?
I just checked. There are 3 Amtrak trains from Union station to Champaign-Urbana.
Earliest: leaves Chicago 9:15 am, reaches Chambana 11:25. This one would be pretty difficult for me to make with the flights.
Middle: leaves Chicago 5:05 and arrives Chambana 7:15. Doable but means y'all'd need to schedule pretty late.
The last train is impossible as it gets into Chambana at 10:34 pm.
Yes, that's true, but you're not coming here. We won't even be here then.
Only Jill (who is coming in a week early) has to worry about getting to Champaign. One of the reasons we chose a venue only 30 miles from Chicago (but 150 miles from here) was to make it easier for out of town people to get there, because getting here is hard.
The hotel we have the room block at and the venue are both in Naperville, though at opposite ends of Naperville (about eight miles apart). As the crow flies, that's about 25 miles southwest of O'Hare. The CTA provides rapid transit service 24 hours a day on the Blue Line from O'Hare to downtown (and Forest Park); the time from O'Hare to downtown is about 40 minutes. Union Station is about three blocks from the Clinton/Congress Blue Line station. Metra service on the BNSF line leaves from the South Concourse at Union Station and heads to Naperville. I would say see the posted schedule at http://metrarail.com/Sched/bn/bn_wko.shtml
, but that's July 3rd (the busiest day of the year for Metra), so the schedule will be a bit different. Should only be added trains, though. You can see the main Naperville station on the Metra schedule, third station from the western terminal of that line.
Aha, you addressed that; nevermind! I thought it was in Naperville, and I was going to say that if they arrived in Chambana, chances are nobody would be there. :@ )
